Container terminal operations for various types of cargo
I. Packing operations of cartons
1. Precautions for carton packing operations Carton is the most common type of packaging for container cargoes, and is generally used to package finer and lighter goods. (1) If the container is a large-sized carton of uniform size, a gap may occur. When the gap is about 10cm, it is generally not necessary to fix the cargo, but when the gap is large, it needs to be fixed according to the specific conditions of the cargo;
(2) If cartons of different sizes are mixed, the size of the cartons should be reasonably matched to achieve close packing;
(3) Carton shipments of LCL should be separated. You can use materials such as paper, net, plywood, electric pallets, etc., as well as chalk, tape, etc.
(4) When the carton cargo is not enough to fill a container, the stacking height of the carton should be paid attention to in order to satisfy the requirement of filling the bottom of the container.
2. Carton loading and fixing operations
(1) Packing is to pack from the box, or from both sides to the middle;
(2) When a gap of 250-300 cm is generated in the transverse direction, the weight of the lower cargo can be used to hold down the lower cargo. The upper cargo must be filled or fixed;
(3) If the loaded carton is heavy, it needs to be properly cushioned in the middle layer of the container;
(4) When there is a large gap at the end of the box door, it is necessary to use square wooden bars to fix the cargo;
(5) When loading small cartons, in order to prevent the cargo from collapsing, the vertical and horizontal stacking method can be used.
Second, the packing operation of wooden crate goods There are many types of wooden crates, with different sizes and weights. The issues that should be paid attention to when loading and fixing wooden boxes are:
(1) When loading small wooden boxes that are relatively heavy, riding seam loading method can be used, so that the upper wooden box is pressed against the joint between the two lower wooden boxes, and the top layer must be fixed or plugged;
(2) When a small wooden box is loaded, if there is a large gap at the end of the box door, it must be fixed or supported with wooden boards and wooden bars;
(3) When a large wooden box with a low center of gravity can only be installed on one floor and the bottom area of the box cannot be fully utilized, it should be installed in the center of the container, and the bottom of the box must be fixed horizontally with square wooden bars;
(4) For a wooden box with a high center of gravity, it is not enough to fix it close to the bottom. It must also be supported by a wooden strip on it;
(5) When loading large heavy wooden boxes, concentrated loads or eccentric loads are often formed, so special fixed facilities must be provided to prevent the cargo from contacting the front and rear walls of the container;
(6) When loading the frame box, usually use steel belts to tighten or replace the steel belts with elastic nylon or cloth belts.
3. Packing operations on pallets Cargo pallets and bags are usually loaded on pallets. Carton goods can be fixed between the upper and lower layers by sticking. After the bag is loaded on the board, the size of the bag must be the same as the size of the board. For slippery bags, the stick method must be used to fix it. The problems that should be paid attention to when loading and fixing the pallets are: (1) If the size of the pallets can only be installed in the container horizontally, the cargo must be placed in the center of the container and fixed with longitudinal wooden blocks;
(2) When loading more than two layers of cargo, regardless of whether the gap is horizontal or vertical, the bottom should be fixed with retaining bars, while the upper pallets need to be plugged with spanning wooden bars;
(3) If the number of pallets is odd, the last pallet should be placed in the center and tightened with a rope through a tether;
(4) When loading a pallet container with pallets, it is necessary to balance the weight of the front, rear, left and right sides of the container. Belts should be used to tighten the cargo after loading, and the cargo or container should be covered with canvas or plastic film after loading;
(5) The pallets in bags should be matched with pallets of different sizes according to the size of the bags to make full use of the volume of the container.
4. Packing operations of packed goods The packed goods include pulp, board, wool, cotton, surface cloth, other cotton fabrics, textiles, fiber products, and waste materials. Its average weight and volume are often larger than those of cartons and small wooden cases. General bales are loaded in general cargo containers. Pay attention to the packing when loading and fixing:
(1) Generally, the packed cargo can be loaded horizontally or vertically, and at this time, the container capacity can be fully utilized;
(2) Generally, thick boards or the like are used for packing when packing or loading;
(3) Packed goods packed in coarse cloth are generally stable and do not need to be fixed.
Fifth, the packing operation of bagged goods The types of bagged goods are sacks, cloth bags, plastic bags, etc. The main cargoes are grain, coffee, cocoa, waste, cement, powdered chemicals and so on. Generally, the packaging materials are weak in moisture resistance and moisture resistance, so it is best to lay waterproof covers such as plastic on the top of the goods after packing.的 The problems that should be paid attention to when loading and fixing bags are:
(1) Bags are generally easy to collapse and slip, and can be fixed with adhesive, or insert pads and non-slip thick paper in the middle of the bag;
(2) Bags generally have a convex shape in the middle, and commonly used stacking methods include the wall-building method and the cross method;
(3) In order to prevent the baggage from being stacked too high and there is a danger of collapse, it needs to be secured with lashing tools.
